Why Starting a Skincare Routine Feels So Overwhelming (And How to Keep It Simple)

Do you have “start a skincare routine” sitting on your to-do list…
but every time you try to research products, you get overwhelmed and move on?

Same.

And I’m an esthetician.

Why Skincare Feels So Complicated

There’s so much information out there:

  • 10-step routines
  • conflicting advice
  • trending ingredients
  • “must-have” products

It’s no wonder most women feel stuck before they even start.

The problem isn’t that you don’t care about your skin.

It’s that skincare has been made to feel more complicated than it needs to be.

The Breaking Point

I didn’t want a 10-step routine.

I didn’t want to stand in the bathroom for 20 minutes.

And with my husband being a pilot, I was often solo parenting — which meant I needed something that actually fit into real life.

So I asked myself:

What would skincare look like if it were actually simple?

My Reality After Having a Baby

I spent years working as an esthetician, helping people improve their skin every day.

Skincare was literally my job.

But after I had my baby, everything changed.

Two things happened:

1. I had no time or energy for a routine

Between sleepless nights and taking care of a newborn, a long skincare routine just wasn’t realistic.

2. My skin changed

Products that worked before suddenly… didn’t.

My skin needed something different — but I didn’t have the time (or patience) to figure out a complicated new routine.

Why I Created Quickie Glow Skincare

That question is what led me to create my own skincare line.

I wanted skincare that was:

  • quick
  • easy to use
  • effective
  • supportive of the skin (not aggressive)

Something that works for:

  • beginners
  • busy women
  • people who feel overwhelmed
  • and even those who’ve tried everything

What Your Skincare Routine Should Actually Look Like

Instead of 10 steps, your routine can be as simple as:

Morning:

  • Gentle cleanse
  • Hydration
  • Moisturizer + SPF

Night:

  • Cleanse
  • Hydration
  • Treatment (like retinol)
  • Moisturizer

That’s it.

What Matters Most (Especially After 35–40)

As your skin changes, your routine doesn’t need to get more complicated — it needs to get smarter.

Focus on:

  • Hydration → helps plump and smooth skin
  • Barrier support → keeps skin calm and balanced
  • Gentle renewal → improves texture over time
  • Consistency → this is where results actually happen

The Goal Isn’t Perfect Skin

The goal is:

  • skin that looks healthy
  • skin that feels comfortable
  • skin that has a natural glow
  • a routine you actually stick to

And most importantly…

A routine that takes 3–5 minutes a day.

The Bottom Line

You don’t need more products.

You don’t need a complicated routine.

You just need something that fits your life.

Because when skincare is simple, you actually do it.

And when you do it consistently — that’s when your skin starts to change.
